The strawberry guava, scientifically Psidium cattleianum, is a small tree or shrub native to South America but growing throughout the tropics. Although it belongs to the myrtle family, it's botanically distinct from the common guava, which is Psidium guajava. It's known for its sweet and tart fruits, which taste like a mixture of strawberries and guavas.
