Pulasan is an evergreen ornamental tree similar to Rambutan. It has deep red, maroon coloured fruits which are very sweet. They have a good shelf life of 4-5 days at room temperature.
The Alupag tree known for its delicious and juicy fruits, resembles the more popular longan and lytchee. However, the fruit has has distinctive looks because of its skin texture. Similar to the longan, the alupag also fruits in bunches and is an attractive sight.
The exotic fruit will particularly be of interest to fruit collectors outside its place of origin.
